I went to the Vking's game yesterday so I thought I'd give you a little Monday Morning QB perspective of the weekend!
I thought our church services were excellent! I loved what was happening and the response from the church. Soap 365 went over really well and the plan for fasting was well received. (Sorry to the 11:00 service, I forgot to say that the fasting starts the 11th! Click here to get the info you need awake21.org ) I really think this is going to be a breakthrough year for us as we see God do great things. We had a huge late service (It tied as our all time high in one service.) and I hope that we can spread out the attendance at our other services. We have a plan now for 200 more seats in the auditorium and making room for growth. I think there were several reasons we had such a full late service. Freezing rain Saturday night, (I had to chip away at my windows for 15 minutes!) -1 for a temperature and a Viking's game at 3:30PM. All of that combined made for a huge late service.
As far as the Viking's game, well, there's always next year.... They just looked like they knew their QB just didn't have what it takes. At least Becca and I had fun with some generous friends from church that got us the tickets and we looked pretty good in our new Ketterling jerseys!
Ps Rob - I have to say that I am so excited about the fast...I have never fasted for more than a day before and am SUPER excited to do this 21 day fast. One of my goals this year was to read the Bible in a Year with the kids so when I heard the SOAP msg. I just knew that when I wrote that as one of my goals this year that God is really working in me to grow more this year than any year before. I DO NOT WANT TO BE SETTLED OR STAGNENT with where I am at. These two events, the fast and reading the Bible in a year, are going to stretch me in ways I know I've never been stretched and I'm so grateful to know that I've got God on my side through it all. Thank you for leading as God has called you to do. I'm so excited, really excited for this next month to see how God moves. Kirsten Shabaz
