It's that time of the year when Minnesotans turn their attention to the 10,000 lakes and the outdoor beauty of our lovely state. After spending months inside we have emerged to see that we do have neighbors and we do have lots of summer fun (i.e. golf!) to cram into a few short months. It's soon to be summer and it's prime vacation time in Minnesota!
That was the theme of my pastors/spouses meeting last night, vacation. I talked about the rhythm of life and how certain countries, states, cities have developed certain patterns and how we need to work with it and not against it. I also told them to take their vacation and try the "Minnesota" thing and take advantage of the lakes. I did however forbid them from getting a cabin because after all, we do most of our work on the weekends! (I've always thought that pastors should share a cabin with people, we could go on Sunday night-Tuesday night and never even see the family that has it Friday through Sunday.)
Take time for family, enjoy the lakes and create some memories. Use your vacation because if you don't, you'll become a "human doing" instead of a "human being". Just remember, while you're doing that, stay faithful at church and keep a balance but be sure to take the time to enjoy this beautiful world God created.
I am a born and raised Minnesotan, and can attest to the fact that we have sooooooo much to do and see during the summer. Sure the weather can get cold during the winter, but come Spring/Summer, the whole state comes alive, and all of nature wakes up and comes out for people to observe. From lakes to camps to the MN Valley Wildlife Refuge that goes from Burnsville all the way down to Belle Plaine and then all the way out to western MN, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Hey you're always welcome to stay at our cabin (on Stony Lake in Hackensack)...
3 bedrooms. Great fishing lake.
It's a shame for it to be empty as it often is, so we love to share it.
Shoot us an email whenever you're interested...
